As a Planet garage conversion customer, you will enjoy the comprehensive Planet
guarantee and be covered by full Planning and Building Regulation Approval.
These cover issues such as:
- • Safety – all necessary fire safety precautions and exits will be present in your new living space.
- • Insulation – your new living space will have adequate heating and ventilation for you to enjoy all year round.
- • Sound proofing – your neighbours will not be disturbed by any extra noise created by your enjoyment of your new living space.
Penalties for Non-Compliance
There are severe penalties for non-compliance with building regulations or
alterations made without planning approval. If the correct local authority approvals
are not sought, problems may arise if a time came when you decided to sell your
property. The purchaser’s solicitor will ask for all certificates for any work carried
out whilst in your possession, without these the sale of your home could fall
through. As the home owner, you would then have to apply for retrospective
planning approval which can take some time. If this was rejected you would then
be forced to turn the room back into a garage.
Building Control Approval
Recent regulations mean that all electrical and gas installations must have a
Building Control certificate. Our professional team of electricians and plumbers
are able to provide these for any work completed by Planet.
